Lucas is a housecat who is looking for an adult only home.

Sadly this is the second time we’re seeing Lucas in our care, he initially arrived in our care in April and he was rehomed in the summer, unfortunately a change in circumstances meant his new owner wasn’t able to look after him anymore.

Lucas is an independent older guy who is going to need a calm & patient home, it will likely take him a bit time to settle. Even once he has settled, things will be on his terms. It does sound from his previous homes that Lucas has a lot of energy, but he also likes to relax by his owners side on the sofa. He could make great company for someone who doesn’t need a typical lap cat & can give him the space and patience he needs.

Lucas very much struggled to adapt to the cattery environment, but he’s mellowed out since he’s moved to a quieter and more homely part on site, and will even come up to you to ask for some treats and a cuddle, gently nudging into your hands while purring away. It’s a drastic change from him hiding when he first came back, and lashing out at staff and volunteers.

He does love his treats, and Dreamies are a good way to help build a bond with him. We know that with time and plenty of reassurance he will make a lovely companion to the right family, but they should be prepared for some grumbling in the settling in process! We are sad to see Lucas back in our care, and can’t wait to see Lucas enjoy the life he deserves.

Lucas has experienced some vomiting whilst in our care and whilst he has now been signed off by the vet, any potential rehomers should be aware that this is likely to be classed as a pre-existing condition by pet insurance. This will be discussed in further detail with any successful applicants.
