Eclipse can be rehomed with children 14+ and other dogs, but no cats or small animals.

Eclipse is a delightful young girl who came into our care as a stray. Since arriving, she has struggled in the shelter environment. She is is scared and nervous and, ultimately, shuts down spending a ton of time in her bed.

However, Eclipse has spent some time on foster outside of the kennel where she presented as an entirely different dog allowing us great insight into the pocket rocket hiding beneath her fears.

Once Eclipse feels more confident she comes alive. She still remains a very nervous and anxious dog which can be displayed in some challenging behaviours, but she is also excitable, energetic, active, and so so smart.

Eclipse has behaved brilliantly with other dogs for the most part. She is happy to politely interact, but also respects their space. However, Eclipse does get very closely attached to the person she feels safest with and does show early guarding behaviours towards them. She will panic when she feels her space on the settee or with her human is at risk so, if she is to be rehomed with another dog, it will have to a patient and well mannered dog who will not resent Eclipse whilst she learns to share.

Eclipse will need an owner who has the patience to help her with her worries and the experience to deal with her anxiety and over-arousal. Eclipse needs to revisit basic training to allow her a healthy foundation from which she can grow her confidence and learn how to better deal with her overwhelming feelings.

Eclipse is a very high energy and active young girl. She will need an active family who are dedicated to keeping her both physically and mentally enriched. Eclipse would thrive if giving a focus such as Agility or Fly ball.

Eclipse is a truly awesome little girl who simply has not been giving the start in life she deserves. Her new family will no doubt have their work cut out with her, but they will also have the absolute honour and joy of watching her thrive and mature to the most wonderful companion!
