Posie is looking for an adult only home and to be the only pet in the home

Posie came into our care as a stray dog and was absolutely terrified from the moment the dog warden collected her; she was so afraid and anxious she took a very long time to start trusting just a few of the staff here at the shelter. It took her a little while longer to become comfortable around the rest of the staff, but boy when she has decided she trusts you, is she worth the wait!

Posie is very sweet and affectionate with her human friends and will rush over for some attention. She absolutely loves to chase a ball, and although she doesn’t seem an athletic dog, she can move quickly! Posie has enjoyed spending some time with our staff in our offices, she can sometimes take a little while to gain some confidence in a new room – but once she does, she has a lovely time! Having zoomies, playing with her toys and taking treats! Although she does remain very nervous of strangers, once she has built some trust – she becomes very attached to those that she recognises as her friends.

Posie is looking for a very experienced home who can spend time working with her and building her confidence but also managing situations, so she isn’t made to feel uncomfortable. She has displayed some dog reactivity as well as reactive tendencies around strangers when they invade her space, but there have been improvements in these areas whilst with us.

For the family that have the time, patience and understanding that this special girl requires, we have no doubt Posie will make the most rewarding companion. This little lady has so much love to give – she just needs a safe and secure forever home where she can experience the reassurance and stability she so deserves and where she can fully relax and let her true, affectionate and daft personality shine.
