We are excited to announce that Shelter Life Issue 11 has just been released! This edition is packed with heartwarming stories, important updates from the shelter, and a peek into the lives of the animals we care for every day.
One of the standout stories in this issue is Milo’s Journey, a blue Cane Corso puppy who arrived at our shelter completely shut down, scared, and traumatised. With the dedicated care and patience of our team, Milo overcame his past and found his forever home after 51 days of recovery. His transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
But it’s not just dogs like Milo that find hope through our shelter. In this issue, we also feature Timmy, a 17-year-old black cat who faced multiple health challenges, including hyperthyroidism and partial deafness. Despite being overlooked due to his age, Timmy spent 155 days in our care before finding a loving forever home. His story reminds us that even the most senior animals deserve a chance to live out their golden years in comfort and love.
Both Milo and Timmy’s stories are part of our Troubled Tails appeal, which highlights the resilience of the animals that come into our shelter. These animals need your help. By becoming a regular supporter of Troubled Tails, you can directly contribute to the care and rehabilitation of dogs and cats just like Milo and Timmy.
At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a donation form. Your support can make a life-changing impact and give these troubled tails a second chance at happiness.

Joining our Troubled Tails really means a lot to our animals. There are several ways you can donate either regularly by Direct Debit or as a one-off gift.
Your contributions go towards the daily needs of our animals – food, veterinary care, shelter maintenance, and enrichment activities, costing on average £25 per day for a dog and £15 for a cat. But more than that, you provide the stability and assurance that every animal in our care will have the chance to thrive in a loving environment.
