Taylor: From Heartbreak to Hope

Taylor’s story began when she was found as a stray with her brother in July. They were handed in to a local vet, but sadly, her brother didn’t survive. Taylor stayed with the vet in foster care, where she had a safe place to recover and grow stronger while waiting for a new family.

In foster care, Taylor’s lively and confident personality began to shine through. By the time she was ready for rehoming, she was full of energy and curiosity, eager to embrace a fresh start.

Two months after arriving in our care, Taylor found her forever home. While this isn’t an especially long time, sadly it’s common for black cats to take longer to find a home due to factors like superstition. Our rehoming assistant, Katie Fulcher-Watkins, says, “Families often look for specific coat colours and, unfortunately, this means that pure black cats are often overlooked.”

Her playful nature keeps everyone entertained, especially the family’s Jack Russell, whom she loves to tease and play with. Taylor has become a true part of the family, enjoying a home where her confidence and spirited nature are cherished. She’s finally found the companionship, comfort, and love she deserves.

Now renamed Tilly, she’s settled wonderfully into her new home. Her family have even treated her to a huge cat tower, which has quickly become her favourite spot to climb, play, and observe everything around her.
