We are thrilled to announce that Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has been featured on the brand-new official MONOPOLY: Newcastle and Gateshead Edition board game! Unveiled this morning (12th November 2024) at The Utilita Arena, the board showcases over 30 iconic landmarks and organisations, with Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter proudly taking a place on the Community Chest.
At the launch event, Mr. Monopoly himself revealed a giant version of the board, where Tyne Bridge took its spot on the prestigious top square. This long-awaited Newcastle and Gateshead Edition offers a fresh update since the last local MONOPOLY in 1999, showcasing local treasures and community organisations across themed sets—highlighting the history, heritage, and heart of the area.

The game includes well-loved sites like St James’ Park, Grey’s Monument, and The Bigg Market, and also shines a light on community heroes, with charities like The Alan Shearer Foundation, St Oswald’s Hospice, and our very own Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter making an appearance.
